The Mormon Cathedral

Went for a nice though chilly ride this morning out Beach Dr and visited the mormon cathedal for the first time.

The building is actually extremely impressive; I'd only seen it from the beltway previously.

On top of the spire is the Angel Moroni who mormons believe brought the book of mormon to Joseph Smith. (There is also a lightning rod attached to the top of the figure).

The corner of the building is actually a bunch of small stained glass type windows to let in light; towards the bottom they are darker and as they go up they become lighter symbolizing the difference between earth and heaven.

Also, many of the walls of the building which look like marble are actually painted glass as well which also let in light to the temple.

I really liked this one. Although above in color the bright blue sky is pretty nice as well.

Check out http://photo.net/ for picture taking hints.
You know what else helps? Visiting galleries. I have a few exhibits I've been meaning to check out, you should come with ... and why am I talking to you via blogspot?
